Q. What will my child learn?

A. Our curriculum is posted in the lobby.  Every  6-8 weeks we give out stickers, ribbons, certificates and medals to encourage our class kids to keep working hard!  Instructors are available for a few minutes after every class to discuss your child’s progress, or you can email the gym if you have questions.

Q: How will I know what is going on at the gym?

A: Our main form of communication is email.  Please make sure the office has your email address on file.  Our monthly newsletters and reminders are also posted in the lobby near the water fountain.

Q. When do class begin and end?  Can I register anytime?

A. Classes begin August 4, 2011 and end May 19, 2012.  You can register at anytime during the school year.  Our summer program is offered during the months of June and July.

Q. What is your tuition policy? How do I make payments?

A. Tuition is a flat monthly fee based on a average of 4 classes each month.  We do not pro-rate tuition  for illness, vacation, or missed classes.   A 10% discount is taken off of the total tuition for any family of two (2) or more students. Payments made on or before the 10th of the month receive an early bird discount of $5.00 per class. There is a $25.00 returned check fee. If your account remains unpaid at the end of the current month, your child will be dropped from the class. We require that all students have a credit or debt card number on file.

For your payment convenience, we accept credit and debit cards as well as checks and cash. You have the option to pay at the front desk, your personal online portal or the payment drop box located near the front desk. Please do not drop cash in the drop box. Please write your child’s name and phone number on your check.

Q.  Do you offer automatic payments?

A. Yes.  Stop by the desk and sign up for Auto-Pay if you would like us to charge your card on file at the first of the month.   You can also register, check your balance and make payments online at our portal.  Go to DahlonegaGymnastics.com, click on Customer Portal, and login with your email address  .  If you are a new user you can click “I don’t know my password” and one will be sent to you.

Q. What should my child wear to class?

A. A  leotard is preferred for girls. Shorts or sweat pants and t-shirts may be worn for boys and girls as long as they are not baggy or covering the feet and present a danger spotting the child. Girls hair should be tied back. No jewelry is allowed to be worn. All children must have bare feet while in class.

Q. What days are you closed?

A. Labor Day, Halloween Night, Thankgiving (Wed-Fri), December 19-Jan 1, MLK Day, Lumpkin County Spring Break, Memorial Day and July 4th.  We do not close for early release or other “school” holidays.

Weather related or unscheduled closings: We do not follow any school closing decisions. We will post closing information on the website and voicemail at 8 am for morning classes and 1 pm for afternoon/evening classes.  Make-up classes are provided if we close because of weather.

Q. What if my child is sick and misses a class?

A. Children should not be brought to gymnastics if they are contagious or the effects of their illness could make participation unsafe.  Please schedule a make-up class at the front desk.  We offer one make-up class per month, usually on  a Saturday morning.     Make-up classes  are not provided for team students.

Q. What is your withdrawal policy?

A. You are enrolling for a class that meets for the entire school year. If you wish to leave the class before the end of the school year you must fill out a written withdrawal form. A verbal notification to the office staff or teacher is not sufficient. We require that you give us notice on or before the 15th of your last month. We will charge the card on file for your last month plus any outstanding balance if you leave the program without written notice. We do not prorate tuition for missed classes.

Q. Is there a visitor/parent policy?

A. Parents and visitors are more than welcome to view class from our upstairs viewing area. Please do not talk or wave to your child while they are in class. Interruptions could cause serious injury to your child or another child. No flash photography is allowed to be used during practices. This is a USA Gymnastics safety rule. Under no circumstances are children or parents who are not participating in class allowed on the gym floor. If you need to speak with an instructor, please do so at the end of your childs class. Our instructors are always happy to answer any questions you may have but please keep in mind they may have other children waiting for them. We have a large full view seating area for parents and siblings equipped with a TVs and toys for the little ones. Please supervise siblings who are in the seating area and be respectful of others while waiting.

Q. Where should my child wait for class?

A. We will call the kids from the stairs when class begins. No one is allowed on the equipment unless they are with a coach. Do not drop off a student more than 15 minutes early for class unless prior arrangements have been made with the office.  Please pick your child up on time at the end of class. You are welcome to drop off your child, but please wait until they begin class before leaving the gym.

Q.  How can I help my child be their best at gymnastics?

A. Remind them to listen to the coach and the corrections they provide in class.   If your child is struggling or fearful of a skill, please let us know!  Students who are continually disruptive in class will be removed from the class for the day. Our motto: Safety First!!
